Greetings, I am Don Young, a Triple Dragon Master Black Belt in the mystic martial art of HEMA, which I invented.  Yes, I invented HEMA.  I have an extensive background both eastern and western martial arts and I have built my school to teach you all of the ancient secrets of fighting.  Let me tell you more about our school!

Who is the instructor?

Triple Dragon Mater Young is the primary instructor.  Here are some of his credentials:

• Little Tiger Black Belt Rank at Dig Doug’s Tae Kwon Do (1990)
• Olympic Fencing Premiere Ranked Student at JoJo’s Fencing School (1994)
• Invented HEMA (1995)
• 1st Place in 3rd Anual Diakatona tournament (PC) (1997)
• Theatre Major at Michigan State (1999)
• Ninjutsu Master Rank from Master Ted’s Clan of the Foot and Hand (2005)
• Studied professional choreography at school under Professor Englishman (2006)
• Enrolled in official UFC Gym and became a UFC fighter (2015)
• Founded DonYoung’s & Dragons’ HEMA school

As you can see Triple Dragon Master Young has more than 25+ years of experience and has devoted his life to this craft.  Each class contains his wisdom and expertise as he has passed it on to his assistant teachers.

Who is this school for?

We accept students from ages 3 to 80+!  This art is for everyone!  We do have after school programs and will pick your child up directly from school.  We have a summer camp.  Our adult program has students of all ages.  You belong here!

Does this make my children violent?

No!  Absolutely not.  Here at DonYoung’s & Dragons’ we teach children the laws and rules of chivalry as they were taught to real and actual knights in the 1500s.  Here are some of the points of The Knight’s Code from history that our students will learn:

• Never hurt anyone ever.
• Respect peoples’ pronouns.
• Never strike at a person’s back or attack when they are not ready.
• Be safe and use the buddy system.
• No wrestling, grappling, pushing, or horseplay; even when sparing.
• Always use proper attacks and stances and only use them when sparing with all of the protective sparring gear.

Remember, these fighting skills will be learned using safe proprietary padded training swords from our exclusive distributer.  You control when your child has access to them.  Take them away and you have control over your child’s access to his martial art.

How can this change my life?

There is a process that comes with this method of study.  Its hard to explain.  You really have to be here to experience it.  We start off by breaking you down emotionally until you stop trying so hard.  Then we slowly teach you tedious proper techniques for basic striking and we do it again and again until you start to like it.  Then we slowly show you respect for how long you have continued to pay for your membership.  You will in time mistake this false respect we give you for progress and this illusion of progress will make you think that you are dangerous and powerful.  Actually, thats a pretty good description of how this works.  Here are some other great benefits:

How do I get started?

Its simple.  You just walk into our dojo with your credit card.  The process is fast.  You sign the papers and give us the card and we will begin the beginner program where for the next 6 months you will learn all the parts of all swords and the proper way to hold and respect all of them.  You get a free shirt and Cold Steel buckler if you register during the winter months.

I am often asked about price of this art.  We don’t put prices on the web site.  That is something we have to sit down and talk about.  It is personal and it involves a number with lots of 9s in it.  Don’t worry or even think about price at first.  Come visit and get to know us first before worrying that the cost might not be reasonable.  We will figure you out and find a way.
